*= At communicating his accomplishments. Let’s look at the facts for just a minute:
- During his time as President the economy just came out of the worst crisis since the Great Depression and has 45 months of positive job, created 5.1 million jobs, and is on a pace to create at least another 5 million more. That is more than the last two Republican occupants of the White House combined.
- His signature legislative accomplishment, Obamacare, exceeded enrollment goals and has cut the number of uninsured Americans by 10 million.
Could you imagine if one of the Bushes or Clinton had done either of those things? You would never hear the end of it. They would say it in every media outlet, every chance they got.
The inability to do this is part of the reason why Obama’s numbers are lagging so much in the polls. If he wants to protect his legacy Obama will have to improve on this. If the Democrats fail to do this it may allow the GOP to write away his successes and paint Obama as a failure. Which ever of those succeeds will shape the 2016 elections and beyond.
