Joe Scarborough’s favorite Republican had a great year. Not only did he roll to an easy victory but he stayed at or near the top of the GOP polls both nationally and at the state level.
In addition, his feud with Rand Paul helped keep attention away from people like Scott Walker and Jeb Bush. It also gave him an opening to make friends in the party’s neo-con wing who are looking for anyone who will confront Paul.
With position as head of the Republican Governor’s Association Christie will be allowed to spend a great deal of time in Iowa, New Hampshire, Florida and South Carolina. Using that time to build up friends, gain some favors and impressive the GOP establishment even more.
Christie’s victory looks even better when compared to the rest of the GOP field this year.
