Kentucky Senator Rand Paul really wants a fight with Chris Christie. Recently he questioned whether Christie is even a fiscal conservative. Noting that the New Jersey Governor expanded Medicaid, a part of Obamacare, Paul told CNN:
“On the case of the New Jersey governor, I think embracing Obamacare, expanding Medicaid in his state is very expensive and not fiscally conservative. Many Republican governors I would say are conservative did resist expanding and accepting Obamacare in their states. That fact, I would say, would lead towards you making the conclusion that it is not a very conservative proposal.”
In the light of Christie’s victory earlier this month Paul has been taking these kind of shots at the Governor. What makes this interesting is that Paul seems like someone who can dish it out but can’t take it.
Look at how he responded to the problems with his staffer who was “Southern Avenger” or his recent claims that he may just go back to being a doctor if people don’t stop hounding him over plagiarism. Do those seem like the actions of a man who can handle attacks from people?
Of course, as anyone who asks Chris Christie a question he doesn’t like knows, the New Jersey Governor is also notoriously thin skinned. So you can bet he will respond to Paul with equal vitriol.
This feud is just getting started but it looks like it could be a real nasty one. Someone get me some popcorn.
