Fresh off a loss in November and three years in the U.S. Senate, Scott Brown is now visiting Iowa and talking about his vision for the Republican Party. Why?
Let’s be clear, Scott Brown ran a great campaign in 2010, but there is no chance he is going to be the GOP nominee in 2016.
First, he’s pro-choice on abortion. That alone should stop anyone from taking him seriously in the Republican Party. Second, he lost his reelection campaign in 2012. That is another strike. You can ask Rick Santorum how well the party rallies behind guys who get beat the time before they run for President.
Lastly, in addition to being pro-choice he went around Massachusetts telling everyone he is an independent. You think that’s going to play well in Iowa or South Carolina?
I don’t know why Brown is doing this but my guess is that he’ll never runs for anything again and will go back to enjoying his career as a lobbyist.
