If Mitch McConnell is out of destroy the Tea Party, as some say he is, then he certainly has a big target on his hands with the Senate Conservatives Fund. The group is willing to back challengers against people it consider RINOs. This has mad it some powerful enemies in the GOP’s business community wing.
Now it is being reported that the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee is telling consults if they do business with the SCF they will not be hired by the NRSCC.
These kind of hardball tactics, at least being on display so publicly, are new to the GOP’s civil war and show the conflict is ratcheting up. This makes McConnell’s primary race even more critical in the GOP. If he loses the Tea Party really is in control but if he wins this is just the beginning of turning the screws.
