Chris Christie’s Mixed Bag Tuesday

On Tuesday night Chris Christie is going to win reelection.  As sure as I know Wednesday follows Tuesday, I know that is going to happen.  However, Tuesday is also the day Double Down hits the stores.

Not Christie’s favorite book.

Much like when the author’s book about the 2008 election, Game Change, came out there will be so juicy details.  The book chronicles the 2012 race and in one section Mitt Romney’s Vice Presidential search is discussed.

You can imagine this would be a critical part in the book consider what happened in 2008.  Remember, after the Sarah Palin debacle, Romney needed to find someone who was squeaky clean and also could handle the intense media scrutiny

I have not the read so I don’t know all of the details.  What is surfacing is in early reviews are some things that could raise eyebrows about Christie’s past.  Apparently he has a few skeletons in his closet, including:

Justice Department investigation into his free-spending ways as U.S. attorney, his habit of steering government contracts to friends and political allies, a defamation lawsuit that emerged during a 1994 run for local office, a politically problematic lobbying career that included work on behalf of a financial firm that employed Bernie Madoff. And that’s not to mention the Romney team’s anxiety about the governor’s girth.

Could any of these sink Christie?  Don’t know all of the details yet so I don’t know the answer to that. However after Tuesday Christie will have a big bullseye’s on his back from Republican rivals and Democrats.  You can be they will try to find everything possible to raise a stink about this stuff.

And you KNOW the Romney people were waiting for the right moment to dump all of this crap on Christie.  Did Christie really think the Obama beach tour was going to go unpunished?
