Here is Conservative Party leader David Cameron’s speech to his party’s conference:
The speech sounded like it was written for an American audience. This is probably why it was criticized by the media. For example in places like here, here, and here Cameron was hit for a lame performance. His jokes fell flat and his applause lines were lackluster at best. I mean the guy praised Iain Duncan Smith for pete’s sake.
At times Cameron seemed to get caught in trying to bring back UKIP voters and keep more moderate voters. Frankly, it is hard for someone from a very wealthy background to try and give a populist speech, especially if you don’t believe it.
I guess Jim Messina isn’t the Wunderkind some in D.C. think he is. What a shock that revelation must be for some.
