I am sure there are many Republican primary voters who like both Rafael Cruz and Randy Paul. In some ways they probably wish they could have both. This is like wanting both the Yankees and the Red Sox to win the World Series.
You simply cannot have both.
The reality is that Paul and Cruz are competing for the same activists, primary voters and donors. One is going to win and the other is going to lose. It is that simple. Their battle could be like:
If either one is lucky they will knock the other out that easily and that early. This is why Cruz did his talk-a-rama. He didn’t actually filibuster anything (there was no legislation up for a vote when he started talking) but Senator Rafael Cruz can now say he has a filibuster like Rand Paul does. Come to think of it what was the drone legislation Paul was talking about?
I guess that makes them equals but for Cruz actually it is much better. Paul was talking about drones but Rafi was trying to defund OBAMACARE. Which do you think speaks more to the hearts of the GOP base?
Yeah, easy win for Cruz on that count.
I know we are in the first round of the 2016 race but sometimes first rounds can have a big impact. I know Smokin Joe Frazier would agree.
