The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza has a new column that lays out why what’s going on right now is important to the 2016 race. He touches on the importance of establishing a persona and a national fundraising base.
He does forget this is also the time when the rules are being written. It was before the 2010 midterms that the RNC announced the rules for the 2012 process. As we have documented this will have a big impact on the 2016 race when they are announced. For example will states be allowed to have winner-take-all primaries early on in the process or not?
Also, how can you tell what’s going on know is important? The candidates ain’t exactly sitting at home right now.
